Apply to the Board

Most people would agree that it's a good thing that high school doesn't last forever. It does mean, however, that at the end of the 2015-2016 school year, the Canvas editorial board will have lost three of its members. In the interest of maintaining an efficient and varied team of editors, we are accepting applicants to join the editorial board. This is a major commitment of time and energy, and requires a willingness to put Canvas work before many other commitments.

All potential applicants must live in the Rochester, NY area. We prefer that new members be in grade 10 or below, to allow for more time on the board. This is not set in stone, but it is preferable.

To apply to become a board member, use the form below to submit:

  • A short bio so we get an idea of who you are.
  • A short summary of why you want to be involved with Canvas, why you like writing/reading/the arts, as well as what you think you can bring to the table.
  • A piece you have written that you are proud of. You may also submit a piece of artwork or graphic design in lieu of a written piece.

If we think you would be a good fit for our team, there will be a following interview with the board members to finalize a decision.
